LISSEUM
The Government & How it Works
How is our government formed?
Since November of 2019, we've governed under 5 Constitutions, with our first Constitution establishing the Kingdom of Lisseum. Under our 5th Constitution, we are a semi-Presidential republic with a parliamentary system of government. The government is divided into three separate branch.
The Legislature is controlled by the Legislative Assembly which creates laws and sets the standard policies for legislation. Members of this assembly are elected by the people in a General Ticket system within our hybrid MMP electoral system. The Assembly elects an electoral official called the Electoral Commissioner who manages all the elections in the region. The Assembly also elects a speaker to keep order and focus on the legislative policies. There are currently 4 political parties.
The Executive consists of a President and Prime Minister. The President acts as the Head of State who ascends or veto legislation after being passed in the Assembly. The Prime Minister sets the executive policy for the executive branch and can propose legislation in the Assembly.
The Judiciary is controlled by the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court consists of one Chief Justice and 2 other associate Justices. The Courts have the ability to process constitutional challenges and criminal or civil cases. They can also create rulings to become law, which are known as Common Law thus being the aftermath of a case.

What are the opportunities?
Lisseum contains many opportunities and many activities to participate in. Our most prized activity is the ability to serve in the government, which is the number one choice of employment in Lisseum. In Article 1, Sections 1 and 2 of our Constitution give our citizens the right to serve in government and to vote without any interference or suppression. Here are a few things you can do to have the opportunity to be employed...
Become a Legislator: Joining a Political Party automatically increases your chance of gaining a seat in the LA (Legislative Assembly), where you can express you opinions and policies in debates.
Become a Recruiter: The best way to become a recruiter is to make a request with the Minister of Interior, who's job it is to manage the interior affairs of the Republic, which includes immigration, recruitment, and national security.
Become an Enforcer of the Law: As prescribed by the Cabinet Re-organisation Act, anyone is allowed to become a Federal Security agent, who are watchdogs of Lisseum, watching for illegal activities within society and the government while keeping Lisseum safe. The Department of Federal Security is the second highest body of law enforcement, just under the Supreme Court which processes criminal justice.
Join Cabinet: Joining cabinet is a possibility if the Prime Minister gives people the option to sign up to serve beside them. The Prime Minister has the ability to appoint Cabinet Minister, but the President under the Prime Minister's advisement can also appoint Department Secretaries.
Run in Elections: Elections occur every two months for the Prime Minister and Assembly, which all people are given the opportunity to do so if they wish. Voting is optional in our government, but a sacred and important practice among citizens. Presidential Elections only occur every 6 months and are the hardest to win without experience and patience.
